A successful turkey hunt | Ranch

This spring Travis has headed out a few times at the ranch to try to get a turkey, and today, he was finally successful. Look at this beautiful bird!

Most people here only harvest the breast meat, and leave the rest of the bird for scavengers. Travis harvested the legs as well, to see if they could be cooked into tenderness one way or another. The plan right now is to confit them, and let them sure for a while. Hopefully this works, and we can enjoy even more wild turkey!

PS. I was out hunting for a good cactus in bloom today, and I think that my hunt was successful too!
