I have been working on getting healthier this year, and this week I have decided to start running. I have never enjoyed running, and am quite bad at it, but a friend of mine suggested doing the local color run (a 5k) and it looked like too much fun to pass on.
I have been mostly walking, with some running here and there. My cardio is far from being able to support my doing a real run, and neither are my legs, glutes, or abs. On the upside, I can feel the workout, which means it’s working! And I have Shiso to cheer me on when I get home.
Two things I have learned thus far:
– Stretching is very important to prevent soreness!
– Trim your toenails to avoid accidents.
