Bluebonnets | Texas

While driving to the lake house Ginger and I stopped on the side of the road to get some pictures of bluebonnets in bloom. I have to say, seeing Texas under a blanket of flowers is truly amazing, especially since the state is at 70% drought. Everyone seems to love the state’s official flower: cars even park along the highway for a good patch of flowers. Sadly, some of the flowers get crushed under people’s feet and bodies (remember, these flowers are really short!)… so finding a “virgin” patch is especially exciting.

How beautiful is that? Apparently, after the bluebonnets come the Indian paintbrushes, and Texas gets painted red! Springtime is pretty amazing.
