My husband offered me a trip to Charleston for Christmas, how great is that? He really is the best! Thank you sweetie 🙂
Today we left Houston and landed in Charleston, South Carolina. Charleston had always appealed to me, with it’s great architecture, history, Southern charm, and even somewhat of a French feel. It felt like the kind of place I might fall in love with, the sort of place that would feel like home. Indeed, part of the trip’s purpose was to see if Charleston might be the place where we would want to live, instead of Austin. Unlike my first visit to Austin, this time we planned to play the tourists, seeing the sights and going all out for dinners.
Today we aimlessly walked around, taking in the fabulous houses and everyone’s gardens. It is just so beautiful, so impeccable, so manicured… even the cemeteries have a magical, timeless feel to them. Being so close to the sea was also pretty fantastic – I love the water!
At the end of the day our feet were tired and our stomach full from an incredible meal at FIG. I feel really lucky that tomorrow, we get a full day in this wonderful city!
PS. How amazing is it that there are so many flowers, and we are in December! Pure magic.
