Having spent all day at work, it was lovely to come home and start celebrating Christmas, but it also felt surreal. I can’t believe that Christmas is here already, time really goes by quickly!
Coming from different backgrounds and traditions, Travis and I decided to try to incorporate what was important to us. As such, we will be opening presents today and tomorrow, and I think it’s a great idea, because it makes the fun last longer. It’s always a bummer when all the presents are open and “it’s all over”, but now we get to make it last twice as long.
Travis cooked us delicious duck confit with a truffle – mushroom risotto and green beans. We had it with some lovely local white wine, while watching a Christmas movie. Can’t go wrong there!
After dinner and the movie, we opened the presents we were giving each other. Shiso had a great time with the wrapping, but didn’t really enjoy wearing her Santa hat again.
Can’t wait for tomorrow: more tasty food, more presents, and the day off!
