Starting from scratch meant that we no longer had a Christmas tree, decorations, wrapping paper… We were not too sure what we wanted to do for a tree this year, but having spent two Christmases without one we knew we would be getting one this year. Lucky for us, two of Travis’ coworkers were upgrading their artificial tree this year, so we inherited a free tree. Not knowing how Shiso would handle having a tree around, we stocked up on shatterproof ornaments and got ready for the holidays.
Now, I am used to putting up the tree in December, usually a week or two into the month. Travis was really craving having a tree around though, so as soon as American Thanksgiving was over and I had they day off, the tree could go up.
I spent a few hours a few days ago putting the tree together, while Travis hung lights around the windows outside. I love our tree and I think that it looks amazing: shades of fuchsia (which looks red at night), pale blue and gold with lots of lights and sparkles. I just can’t stop staring at it!
