Week 11 update | Home

This week:

+ The garden has been doing very well, with everything growing quickly. The tomatoes are acting like a weed and we already have green tomatoes on the vine. We also harvested our first beautiful beets. I discovered that I really like beet greens, even though I don’t like beets. But thanks to our stay in Colombia, I also know that I like raw beets.

+ There is a cute cat that hangs around, and he is a real purring machine. This week he took to actually coming into our house, and his favourite thing is hiding under our kitchen sink. He is pretty dirty and matted, so I had no idea if he actually belonged to anyone or not. Using his ear tattoo I tracked down the SPCA he came from (very, very far away) and also left a message with the local SPCA. I guess they got to the owners, because the next day poor Toulouse was sporting a buzz cut.

+ We had our first BBQ, hurray!

+ Travis bought a car, and we are finally free to get around! It’s not in the best of conditions, but the price was right and it works. Yay!
