The final flight | Home

Day 609.

Well, we didn’t make our money last two years, but we had fun trying. As much as I have really been looking forward to today, as much as I can’t wait to “settle down” and be in one place and one place only, I can’t believe that it’s over. How is it possible that a year and 7 months could fly by so quickly?

I am so proud of ourselves for having done *this*. This thing that is still so incredibly huge that I still can’t wrap my head around it. Amazed that we managed to spend every day, every minute together and not murder each other. Grateful for all of the good and the bad, for the opportunity, for the experiences. For the easy and the hard, the boring and the beautiful. For my sweet, kick ass husband, my rock. We did it!

After days in Toronto catching up with friends and Asian food (sushi, Vietnamese, Tibetan – gotta love Toronto!), it was time to pack our bags for the last time and head to the airport. And you know what? We rocked it. No delays, no lost bags, no disorientation. We grabbed a taxi and headed home. Our home. If even for just the night, as we’ll actually be choosing our apartment tomorrow. But our city. Our apartment building. Our home.

Here is all of our stuff – in a 800 square foot apartment. I think we have work ahead of us!

We had a quiet evening. We picked up food to go at the first restaurant we saw that was open and settled in our room and watched a movie.

Tomorrow is the start of a new life.

I think it’s because you are finally “home” which has all the connotation of comfort and relative luxury compared to the road… but you on sleeping on the floor in sleeping bags. I don’t know. It’s just really comical to me. In a good way, of course! 🙂

        And Quatchi’s cute!
