Christmas Day | Argentina

After hardly sleeping last night we slept in this morning. By the time we woke up it was hot, sunny and the lake was completely covered in an ash cloud. The city felt very quiet, save for one family celebrating with a great looking BBQ. We got around to brunch at around 2 PM – and it was delicious! Poached eggs on bread, with tomatoes, ham and two types of cheese.

In the afternoon we Skyped with my family – 16 people in total! It was great to see people I hadn’t seen in forever and to feel even more in the spirit of the holidays. We listened to carols again, and watched a little TV. We didn’t do much, tired from yesterday and wanting to keep our energy for tomorrow’s 20+ hour bus ride into Buenos Aires.

With tonight being our last night in town, it was time to clean the fridge. As such, we had quite the unorthodox Christmas dinner: burgers. It was quite the feast though: Travis made two kinds of burgers (ham with Gouda – cremosa with grilled green onions) and served it with roasted vegetables leftovers. To top it off: sparking wine and The Family Stone. It was great!

Merry Christmas everyone! Here is one of my favourite Christmas song, just for fun 🙂
