It’s cold outside | South Africa

When it’s not a sunny day, it’s actually quite cold outside. It isn’t even spring here yet, so it makes sense that temperatures would be on the colder side in the winter. It’s actually not even that bad outside – around 14C. What gets us is the humidity that creeps inside and keeps everything cold due to the lack of heaters. No one has heating in their homes, and they argue that they don’t need it. Apparently it’s perfectly civilized to just wrap yourself in blankets and wear all your clothes instead. Brrr!

We’ve been trying to stay warm as the locals do, but also by taking hot showers, drinking tea and hot lemon, and sometimes just turning on the oven… our windows are usually all fogged up!
