The old town | Romania

Having only seen the old town at night, we decided to spend today wondering the streets and taking in the sights. We had no set agenda, except to check out a few churches, parks and enjoy the sunshine (which according to the weather forecast, would be our last for a while).

One of the neat things about Orthodox Churches around Eastern Europe is that they do not close during celebrations. On a few occasions we have walked-in on weddings, and it seemed like a perfectly normal thing. People just walk in, pray as usual and step out, all while the wedding is going on. Puffy dresses, golden crowns and awesome 80’s-like dresses: it’s a fun thing to watch and listen to!

Done with our day of walking, we headed back home to meet with our friends for some tasty wine and home-cooked meal!
