War bracelets | Laos

While we were at the Plain of Jars Site 1, we stopped by the souvenir shop to grab something to drink. While we were there I noticed simple bracelets for sale (I have quite the collection of them now!). As it turns out, the bracelets are made from aluminum that was gathered from bombs dropped on Laos during the Secret War. As their community is severely affected by UXO, the village of Naphia sells these bracelets in hope to fight poverty. Even though it really doesn’t match my other bracelets, I couldn’t resit getting one. Not only is it for a good cause, but it’s also pretty cool!
