Markets and Balconies | Vietnam

Our first stop on our first day in Ho Chi Minh City was the Ben Thanh market in Pham Ngu Lao. We ate a lunch of tasty food, Travis had a cold Vietnamese coffee and we ate a weird purple fruit we had never seen before. We enjoyed the smells and the abundance of fresh produce – it’s really a good market. I brought my 50mm f1.8 lens along, and I was really happy with the shots I got with it.

In the afternoon we went back into the street and found a bar with a balcony overlooking the hustle and bustle of the street. We sat up there for a while, drinking beers with ice and watching the world go by. Travis and I both had fun getting photos of the world bellow and the crazy state of the electric poles.

Dinner was spent at a nice restaurant, sitting right on the sidewalk. I had a delightful steak with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes – all for less than US $5 with the drink. Vietnam, how I have missed you!
