Shimizuya ryoken | Japan

Nagano is full of old homes and temples where one can stay, and it turned out to be the best place for us to stay at an affordable ryoken. With it’s nooks and crannies, loads of wood, tatami floors and Japanese washrooms, I knew that Travis would be pleased with my find – and was he ever!

Here are some photos of the ryoken we had almost all to ourselves for two nights.
