I haven’t updated in such a long time, and it’s not for lack of wanting! We’ve just been so busy, trying to get organized and plan our vacation. I am so glad that I am no longer working, because this is a full time job! I don’t know how anything would get done if I were still employed.

Here are a few of the things that have been accomplished:

  • We have sold our books to a used bookstore. We got a decent amount of money for them, but obviously not as much as we originally paid for. Much better though than simply donating the books, as we made enough money selling them to cover well over 2 weeks of accommodation!
  • We had our first yard sale, which was quite successful. We focused on getting rid of knickknacks that can’t really be sold individually, and would of had to be donated. We still have lots to sell, so another yard sale will be in order in August, but we did really good in our first sale and made more than enough cash to cover a month of accommodation.
  • Pictures have been taken of the furniture – items now need to be posted for sale in online classified.
  • We have purchased our new computer, so no more hours of frustration for me! And I have been busy at work learning the new CS5 (which is fantastic, by the way).

Now for a different kind of update, as you know we went for our immunization update around 2 weeks ago… well apparently I am one of the lucky 10% of the population who got a reaction to one of the vaccine. My MMR1 vaccine (measles, mumps, rubella) gave me a mild case of (non-infectious) measles. I have to say that while it’s not fun, it really wasn’t that bad. It didn’t itch too much, and it’s already almost all gone after less than a week. I’m glad that it happened now though, and that we got our shots well in advance! It was nice to not have to deal with this while on the road.
